모두가 살아가고자 하고 모두가 사라지고자 한다. 존재와 소멸 사이, 우리는 욕망을 고요함 속에서 철저히 계산한다. 그리고는 많은 부분을 드러내지 않는다. 숨기고, 감추고, 때론 흔적을 없애고 기억을 소거하기까지 한다. 욕망한다고 고백하자면 두렵다. 그것이 일으킬 파동을 안다.
그럼에도 불구하고 우리는 끊임없이 욕망한다. 삶의 다양한 순간 속에서 무언가를 끊임없이 바라고 염원한다. 수면 위로 드러내지 않을지언정, 욕망 자체를 멈추지는 않는다. 욕망은 현전해있고, 우리 삶의 지극히 사소한 부분까지 맞닿아 있다. 욕망은 원동력의 폭발적인 촉매제로서 삶을 변화시킬 힘을 가졌다. 우리는 욕망이 가진 힘을 믿고 있다. 그러나 이 힘은 양날의 검과 같아서 나를 진보시킬 수도 있고, 파괴시킬 수도 있다는 것도 우리는 이미 알고 있다.
DZRVERSE[디자이어버스]는 메타버스 공간 속에서 지극히 개인적인 자신의 욕망을 마주하고, 성찰하는 시간을 제공하는 전시회이다. 익숙함과 낯섦, 그 사이에서 이미 나의 일부가 되어 그저 지나쳐버렸을 욕망을 다른 차원의 공간에서 새롭게 발견하도록 돕는다. 소거되었던 ‘나’를 다시 불러들이고 투명한 시선으로 다시 ‘나’를 보게 한다. 이 과정에서 느낀 모든 감정들과 깨달음, 모두 당신의 것이다. 오로지 당신만을 위한 것이다.
Everyone wants to live being seen, as much as everyone wants to disappear. Inbetween existence and extinction are where we carefully hide our desires in silence without revealing most of them. We erase our traces and at times even our memories. We fear saying what we truly desire, because of the repercussions it may cause.
Nevertheless, we desire endlessly. Craving for something in various moments of life. Hiding under the visible surface, but the desire is not dormant. It is always present, even in the smallest bits of our lives. Desire is like an explosive catalyst, which can rapidly change our lives. It is like a double-edged sword that can bring advance or destruction.
DZRVERSE is an exhibition that provides a chance to face and reflect on one's deep desires in the metaverse space. The experience enables us to discover the familiar and unfamiliar aspects of our desires, that we might haven’t noticed because it’s already a part of us. Recalling our diguised-self, and looking at it without any filters. All the emotions and acknowledgments you find during this process are all yours, and only for you.
